The auction was open to and advertised to the public. <br /> 2. <br /> Royce McMahon erroneously instructed his employees that it was alright for them, <br /> as sheriff's deputies, to bid on and to purchase items at the auction because it was a public <br /> auction. <br /> 3. <br /> Donny Rowland was employed as a sheriff's deputy with the Webster Parish Sheriff's <br /> Office until July 1, 1996, at which time he resigned. <br /> • <br /> 4. <br /> At the auction, Donny Rowland purchased a 1988 Chevrolet for $400, a gooseneck <br /> trailer for $850 and a homemade gooseneck trailer for $700. <br /> 5. <br /> Wiley Murphy was employed as a sheriff s deputy with the Webster Parish Sheriff's <br /> 10, 1997, at which time he retired. <br /> Office until February a <br /> 6. <br /> At the auction, Wiley Murphy purchased a 1989 Chevrolet Caprice for $525. <br /> 7. <br /> Bobby Hutchins was employed as a sheriff s deputy on April 18, 1996 at which time <br /> he purchased a 1985 Buick LeSabre for $1,025 at the auction. <br /> • <br />
